Ride to Reflect: honoring those impacted by the mudslides

Let's Ride to Remember, to Reflect

The news reports and personal stories have shaken us all. The tremendous loss of life and property affecting our Montecito neighbors is overwhelming. What can we do?

Let's ride our bikes in a solemn tribute to those who have lost loved ones. Gather at De La Guerra Plaza at 5pm for a short, easy ride to the beach.

We'll pause for a moment of silence before returning.

Everyone is welcome.

The days are getting longer, but this ride will be in the dark, so bring lights – SBBIKE will have free bike lights available.

SBBIKE Community bike rides are No-drop rides meaning that every participant respects traffic laws and nobody is left behind during the one hour ride.

Please bring

  • Your bicycle, in good running order and don't forget your helmet.
  • A set of night lights (white in the front and red in the back)
  • All participants under 18 must wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian.

Meet at Santa Barbara City Hall, at De La Guerra Plaza at 5:00pm, return by 6:30-6:45pm.

Mostly flat, about 8 miles – we'll finalize the route as road conditions allow.
