Last week we rode our bicycles from Bici Centro with youth leaders from our SBici program (SB High’s Bike Club) to see Radiohead live in concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
The first question that you might be asking yourself, “How were they able to secure these highly wanted tickets?”
The SBBOWL as a community program called Community Ticket Subsidy (CTS). Where the tickets are subsidized at $5.00 each, which is only possible through generous donations from individuals who help Bowl to buy the tickets from the promoter making it accessible for people of all socio-economic backgrounds and participants of the program.
For many of our students, it was their first time cycling to the SBBOWL and using their complimentary bike valet parking, provided by SBBIKE, which is apart of the bowl’s “Greening the Bowl” initiative. We all agreed that cycling to a concert makes the experience more special and fulfilling, and its also beats the parking and traffic struggle when its over.
All of our students are active cyclists and members of SBici.
