Love 'em or hate 'em · Scooters aren't going away

The onset of electric scooters have vexed many while others delight. Whichever category you belong to, one thing that keeps being whispered – "Scooters aren't going away," so how do we live with them?

Rogue launches led to initial hostilities – Santa Barbara and Goleta reacted by banning scooters – but other locales tolerate and even encourage this clean, compact, on-demand alternative to burning fossil fuels.

Learn from the experts

After we've settled down and cooler heads prevail, how do we best accommodate this surprise micro-mobility option? Some cities are learning, especially Santa Monica, so we've invited their Transportation Staff and bicycle advocates to spend a day in Santa Barbara sharing their lessons-learned.

This event is hosted by Traffic Solutions' Kent Epperson and SBCAG's Michael Becker.

This venue accommodates 135 and will sellout – RSVP today.

Launch 2.0

No scooter forum would be complete without the scooter vendors – there'll be a panel discussion on what the future will hold:

  • Have they advanced beyond rogue launches?
  • What new technologies await?
  • How will the companies improve safety?
  • When will scooters be Alexa-enabled to respond to, "Get off my lawn!"

You'll be delighted to learn of the future possibilities.
