Tour de Tent is a celebration of the outdoors, sustainable bicycle transportation, and the cycling community. Join a large group of fellow riders for a social-paced, no-drop bicycle tour. This year’s route is a two-day, 62 mile ride from downtown Santa Barbara, CA to the pristine Arroyo Hondo Preserve and back to Santa Barbara.
Saturday, May 27:
Riders will meet in the morning at the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition for 10:00am briefing of the route and ride. We will lunch in Isla Vista at the Coal Oil Point Reserve between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. After lunch we’ll mount our bicycles and finish the remaining 19 miles to Arroyo Hondo Preserve.
The Arroyo Hondo Preserve, managed by The Land Trust of Santa Barbara, will graciously host riders for camping Saturday night. We’ll provide a barbecue dinner and beverages and share stories and laughs before settling in to our tents.
Sunday, May 28:
There will be breakfast and coffee Sunday morning before a leisurely 10:00a.m. departure back towards Santa Barbara. There will be a side route option for those riders interested in making the 3 mile climb up Refugio Pass.
