Did you miss it?
On July 27th, Lompoc’s first ever Open Streets event transformed portions of Ocean Avenue and H Street, temporarily closing them to cars and opening them up to pedestrians and Cyclists. It was a whole new way to engage the city landscape. Santa Barbara County's sixth 'open street' event took advantage of a lovely Summer afternoon and lively Friday farmers market to celebrate getting outside and exercising as a community.
There was music, dance, a kids bike give away and training , a BMX show and plenty of space to stroll or pedal with engaging local vendors all along the way.
The event was led by the Healthy Lompoc Coalition with help from Explore Lompoc, The City of Lompoc, the CA Office of Traffic Safety, SBCAG Traffic Solutions, and the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition.
