Love to Ride has put together an amazing guide called Ride Healthy- “Biking in the Coronavirus Era.”
You can explore how riding a bike is good for your health, immune system, how to start riding and how to do it with social distance.
This is a great resource that you can read and share.
You may have noticed some changes on the website and even the E-blast. A couple months ago, an amazing organizer, communicator and translator, joined our team. She had previously been a volunteer in various programs including Bike Valet (with me) at the SB Bowl. It’s about time we introduce her. Diana Musacchio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, lived in many different countries, and came to Santa Barbara to attend Brooks. Immediately after graduation, she began to teach in the Graphic Design, Media Arts and Computer Applications departments at SBCC. And now, here she is at SBBIKE helping with the website, technology, online classes, translating to Spanish and so much more. From one Diana to another, welcome!
For more than a decade, the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition (SBBIKE) has worked cooperatively with COAST (Coalition for Sustainable Transportation) in the public schools of Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria. Although SBBIKE has developed its own programs for teaching kids and adults throughout Santa Barbara County to ride bicycles safely, COAST has used a national model called Safe Routes to School, which includes pedestrian and biking education. Our two non-profit organizations have shared licensed instructors (LCIs) teaching the same curriculum from the League of American Bicyclists, trailers loaded with fleets of youth bicycles and a truck while operating in local schools under separate contracts.
Barry from COAST is out with Notre Dame riders using the SBBIKE fleet.
Slowly, and with our primary commitment to the health and safety of customers and employees, we are finding new ways to provide bicycle services to our communities despite the Covid-19 restrictions.

After a great deal of consideration, to keep our customers, our employees and our community safe, we have decided to temporarily close our 3 Bici Centro locations, Santa Barbara, SBCC and Santa Maria until Sun, March 22nd.
We will update information regarding our closures as we evaluate the situation.
If you need emergency bike repair, call your favorite bike shop in town. Somebody will be happy to help you.
Meanwhile wash your hands, stay home and stay healthy!
