SBBIKE is hosting a Traffic Skill 101 workshop from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, October 7th. Please be on time: there is a lot of material to cover. Free coffee will be provided :)
9:00-10:00am: Become a Confident Rider
Understand your rights & responsibilities as a driver operating a bicycle safely and legally on public roadways. Most importantly, develop the ability to identify unsafe traffic situations and make decisions that canprevent crashes and collisions.
10:15-11:30: Bike handling skills on a blacktop
Participants are encouraged to bring their own bike in good working condition & a helmet. Limited number of loaner bikes & low cost helmets ($10) will be available at Bici Centro located at 434 Olive Street. Please contact Education Director if you need one. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a snack & a water bottle.
Waiver to be completed by all riders.
11:30-1:00pm: Group ride on the streets
Class size is limited but a group of at least six is needed to hold the class. Register beforehand, and invite a friend! If you can't make it, please cancel your RSVP online. Course valued at $100 is FREE.
IMPORTANT: This course is a pre-requisite for all League Cycling Instructor (LCI) candidates who are planning to get certified during a 20 hour LCI training seminar. Prepare yourself by reading TS101 booklet from the League of American Bicyclists.
